Name: Matt Lawyue

Major/Concentration: Journalism/Professional Writing
Matt is a senior at The College of New Jersey. He previously attended Syracuse University his freshman year, majoring in Newspaper Journalism at the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications.
Matt is a Staff Writer for TCNJ’s student newspaper, The Signal.
During the summer of 2008, he interned at BusinessWeek magazine in New York City.
During the summer of 2009, he interned at Sports Illustrated magazine in New York City. He was chosen by the American Society of Magazine Editors (ASME) to participate in their 2009 Magazine Internship Program.
He has been interning at SLAM magazine in New York City since September 2009.
Aside from being a full-time student, Matt has very keen interests in:
- The New York Knicks basketball franchise
- Sharpening his wit/sarcasm
- Avoiding chain restaurants
- Curbing his coffee addiction
- Becoming a better writer than Gary Smith (someday…)
